Finding new space to create a bigger, more functional kitchen for a growing family was the design challenge faced by Anders Lawaetz in this project.

Building on research identifying the relatively low usage of dedicated dining rooms, the key design focus developed around closing off the door to this room and thus transform this area into a workable, and now much used study.

Closing this door off created a new and fully usable wall - a blank canvass for a designer with Anders' skills and experience. We then created a galley wall which in turn provided the opportunity to interface with the new dining area. Now, both casual and formal dining are serviced with built-in storage via the combined bench top and reversed glass front cabinets.
